Q. Is Solus a full-size, fully staffed organization?
A. We realize that the IT services business has more than its share of one- and two-person shops and small, loosely organized virtual companies. Solus LLC is neither. We are a complete company, with a knowledgeable management team and a full-time staff of experienced professionals who offer exceptional IT expertise to clients of all sizes. We have been in business for over two decades.
Q. Is Solus fully insured?
A. Solus is properly insured with all necessary policies normally needed in our industry, including business liability, errors and omissions, and other required coverage. Call us for a complete listing of all our insurance policies.
Q. What is Solus' hiring policy?
A. We take every precaution necessary to ensure that all our employees are United States citizens, or are properly documented guest workers.
Q. Does Solus install wiring and associated equipment?
A. No, though do work with our customers to plan the wiring for voice and data systems and will help our customers find a competent vendor to do the installation, but we do not perform the installation ourselves.
Q. Does Solus do web site design and support?
A. No, but again we will work with our clients to develop their requirements and aid in find a qualified web design company.
Q. Does Solus work on fixed bid pricing?
A. No, we feel to be the most fair to our customers and the best way to maintain a long term relationship with our customers is to charge only for the work we actually perform. In fixed bid work there is too much of a risk that our customers will be overcharged and end up unhappy with the price they paid.
Q. Does Solus charge a retainer or surcharge?
A. No, that would be unfair to our customers.
Q. Can Solus support us remotely?
A. Yes, remote support allows us to respond faster and get our clients' issues resolved quickly. Much of our work is done remotely.
Q. What are Solus' primary areas of expertise?
A. We maintain a staff of consultants that have expertise in a wide variety of technology. This allows us to find the best solution to the business problems of our clients.
Q. Is upgrading always the best solution?
A. No, of course not. Unlike other technology companies our strategy is to take a conservative approach to implementing new technologies for our customers production systems.
Q. "If it ain't broke don't fix it" is our philosophy. Can Solus work with that?
A. That philosophy doesn't always work in the computer world. Certainly we understand tight budgets and cash flow issues, but on the other hand we believe strongly in a proactive philosophy. Many times businesses have mission critical applications that are required to be running in order for the business to run. In those cases it important to properly maintain equipment, plan for upgrades and ensure that critical equipment is under warranty and maintainable. We feel that in the long run it will be less expensive to the business to remain proactive in their technology infrastructure.
